This week the children practiced their dribbling skills and started to incorporate football tactics such as finding space into a range of activities. The children have enjoyed exploring the sport of football and learning different skills that they can apply to their game!
Collecting facts about London
In English, we have collected facts about famous landmarks in London. The children learnt how to research using different sources and then produced presentations for their class. At the end of the lesson, each group stood up and taught the class about their landmark! They were amazing!
Christmas Cards!

PSHE
This week we have looked at recognising the emotion of Anger and the different ways in which we can help ourselves to feel calm when we are angry. The children completed a class meditation session and then completed a 10 steps to calm worksheet.
Hazel class Maths!
Today we started our new learning in maths! We began exploring the concept of addition. The children collected some mathematical vocabulary about addition. Then, we explored the concept using different activities. The children used numicon and multi link to solve 2 digit by 1 digit addition and used part whole models to explore 3 by 1 digit addition.
Counting in steps of 2s, 5s and 10s
On Thursday we developed our conceptual understanding of counting in steps. The children used lots of practical activities to explore the concept and then have since applied it to maths star challenges! I am so proud of them!
Learning mission fun!
This afternoon we have had so much fun during our learning mission provision session! The children have been sketching suffragette medals and our hero from history Emily Davison! The children mixed colours in order to make purple and then improved their sketching by using a portrait sketching tutorial!
Hazel Class Writing
This week we have published our writing! The children produced amazing fact files about Rosa Parks! They used all of their new knowledge and skills to produce some fantastic year 2 writing! I am so proud of you all!
Hazel Class Science Experiment
This week we have been learning about the importance of exercise! The children learnt about the effects of exercise on our bodies and then took part in a whole class experiment. The children completed 2 attempts of 5 different movements. They then measured their heartbeats! We concluded that the harder the exercise the more our hearts beat!
22.9.22 Music
This week we enjoyed our music session with Haley! We were learning about different patterns and pitches of music! We really enjoyed experimenting with sounds in our group.
