Mind Maps!
We created mind maps this week, full of our knowledge from the Stone Age.
We have already learnt so much, this will help us with our non-fiction writing next week. We shared our knowledge with each other, we have collected so many facts.
Stone Age Artefacts
We have been exploring authentic Stone Age artefacts this week. We learnt so much about each different object, what is was and how it was used.
Stone Age Day!
To celebrate our learning of the Stone Age, we have had an experience day! We dressed up, made fires, built dens, made jewellery and created Stone Age paintings outside. We drank herbal tea by the camp fire and cooked and ate quails eggs too. We have loved experiencing a day from the Stone Age, the children really showed off their learning!
Light Safety
We learnt all about light safety and how and why the sun can be dangerous. The children then designed their own sun-safety item and used scientific language to try and โsell itโ to their teachers.
Cave Paintings
We have been exploring cave paintings from the Stone Age. We researched why cave paintings were made and how, then created our own. We were inspired to transformed our classroom!
Making discoveries
We discovered some preserved insects at forest schools this week. The children LOVED this, learning about all the different creatures and seeing them up close.
Investigating light ๐ก
In science we have been investigating light and reflections. We learnt about how light travels and how we see objects, plus how reflections are made. We explored this through mirror writing and creating mirror mazes! ๐ก
Marvellous Music!
We have been learning to turn a rhythm into a tune today in music. The wonderful Mrs Watkinson taught us this through listening to music, clapping a beat, beginning to read music notes and using this to play a tune.
Fab Football!
We have been developing our football skills, learning different ways to control and pass the ball using 6 different parts of the foot.
