Preston Hall & Butterfly World

Hello everyone,

What a beautiful day for a trip, we have had such a brilliant day and are now extremely excited to begin our big idea work on living things and their habitats.

Our day began with a visit to the butterfly world where we saw hundreds of different species of butterflies.

We then went over to Preston Hall where we had a workshop on mini-beasts and their habitats. We were brilliant bug hunters!

However, I think our favourite part was the park at the end. All day we played so nicely and sensibly together and represented our school very well!

Problem solving maths

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share with you how well the children in Hazel class have worked this morning.

Here’s a group of children working together to problem solve one of trickiest questions we’ve ever had in year 2! They were so engaged and determined they begged to carry on in the afternoon!!!

I’m very proud of them!

A brilliant launch into ‘We Are Explorers’

Hello everyone,

Today we had a visit from Zoo Lab. We met so many different animals from rats to snakes! We discussed their habitats, food chains and the different parts of the world you would find them.

Afterwards, we wrote a detailed reflection on our morning.

In the afternoon we continued being explorers, finding, naming and location all 7 continents and 5 oceans on our planet.

We’re so excited to see what the rest of the topic can bring!
