We had a brilliant afternoon adding musical effects to the story of ‘Were going on a Bear Hunt’. We had all sorts from egg shakers, cow bells, hand drums, tambourines and meraccers!
We had so much fun exploring capacity today in maths. The year twos worked so hard to fill their containers to specific amounts and managed to read some really tricky scales.
The year ones worked hard using vocabulary such as full, half full, quarter full and empty.
We became little book reviewers today in Whole Class Reading. We reviewed Grandad’s Secret Giant and talked about what we liked and what we thought could make it even better.

Here are some pictures of us having fun with ice at Forest School. We talked about why the water turned into ice, how long we thought it would have taken to freeze, and the best ways to melt the ice! We even estimated how thick we thought the ice was in the pond. Some children were tasked with removing frozen objects from the ice. They tried lots of different ways but in the end, the quickest way to try to break it into smaller pieces of it melted faster. Some other children were busy making dens for the Giant. They improved on their plans from last week and created new inventions. The children at the pond conducted an experiment to find out the heaviest item that the ice could hold without cracking. They tried all sorts from logs and sticks to rocks and stones.
